Welcome to Strode College
We are delighted that you are interested in studying at Strode College.
As a tertiary college we aim to offer a course for almost anyone and whether you are interested in A Levels or a vocational course we are proud that at Strode these are two different pathways to equally excellent levels of success. Ofsted has recognised that across all our 42 A Level courses student success in achieving the highest grades is 'outstanding' and on nine of our AS or A Level courses students make more progress than at any other school or college in the country. Equally satisfying, our 2011 vocational results at both Level 2 and Level 3 were the best in the college's history. Strode has a local and national reputation for excellence and was one of the first colleges to be awarded Beacon status by the government in recognition of the college's high quality performance. But we are not resting on our laurels and we continue to enhance our reputation today.
At the core of our success is our commitment to individual students. This means high quality teaching and close tutorial support. Every student has a personal tutor who will act as an academic guide and mentor, helping solve any day to day problems. All subjects offer additional one to one and small group support for students who are struggling or who want to push themselves even further. Our new Aspire programme has been set up to provide additional support for students applying to the top universities. Our Student Support team is there to offer advice and guidance with any difficulties. We want you to enjoy your time at Strode and achieve your potential.
College life isn't just about studying though, and student life is brilliant. Strode is a place where you will meet new friends and develop new interests. There are many activities taking place inside and outside college including sports, music, dance and drama. Every year we run trips across the country, Europe and the world, including Tujereng in Gambia where over the last seven years Strode students have played a key role in the development of the village.
We continue to create a world class environment for our students. There are modern facilities with up-to-date equipment as a result of an investment of over £12m in new teaching and sports facilities, creating a modern and exciting campus. This year we have opened a new Dance Studio.
We have regular Open Evenings and College Experience Days scheduled throughout the year, but if you want a personal visit please contact us and we will be happy to show you round.
Your future success starts here.
With best wishes.
