Strode has a local and national reputation for excellence and is one of the very best performing colleges in the country. We were one of the first colleges to be awarded Beacon status by the government in recognition of our high quality performance.

We aim to offer a course for almost anyone and whether you are interested in A Levels or a vocational course we are proud that at Strode students can achieve outstanding success through either route. We also offer the opportunity to ’earn while you learn’ through a broad range of apprenticeships.

At the core of our success is our commitment to individual students. This means high quality teaching and close tutorial support. Every student has a personal tutor who will act as an academic guide and mentor, helping solve any day to day problems. All subjects offer additional one to one and small group support for students who are struggling or who want to push themselves even further. Our Aspire programme has been set up to provide additional support for students applying to the top universities. Our Student Support team is there to offer advice and guidance with any difficulties. We want you to enjoy your time at Strode and achieve your potential.

To ensure this we are constantly striving to improve our performance and our 2012 results were the best in our history. These results came only three months after we received the highest possible rating from Ofsted following their inspection of Strode in May 2012. In particular Ofsted praised our outstanding teaching, the quality of our tutorial provision, our high pass rates and the high proportion of students who achieve high grades. Ofsted recognised our success in adding-value to students so that they make excellent progress here at Strode. Most importantly, they concluded that the support we offer meets individual needs well. I am delighted that we validated these judgements in August 2012 with outstanding A Level and vocational results which confirm our position as one of the very best colleges in the country.

College life isn’t just about studying though, and student life is brilliant. Strode is a place where you will meet new friends and develop new interests. There are many activities taking place inside and outside college including sports, music, dance and drama. Every year we run trips across the country, Europe and the world, including Tujereng in the Gambia where over the last seven years Strode students have played a key role in the development of the village.

We continue to create a world class environment for our students. There are modern facilities with up-to-date equipment as a result of an investment of over £12m in new teaching and sports facilities, creating a modern and exciting campus with industry standard equipment so that students can acquire professional skills as well as qualifications.
