Playing sports is a great way to develop and maintain a healthy body and mind and being part of a team and taking part in competitions can be hugely satisfying and rewarding.
We have extensive indoor and outdoor sporting facilities with experienced sports instructors and teaching staff on hand to coach students of all abilities in personal fitness and team sports.
Our large fully air-conditioned Sports Hall houses all sorts of activities from football to trampolining, to traversing our climbing wall. Refreshments, showers and lockers are all
For £30 a year students can join our state-of-the-art fitness suite which is open to students Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm. Instructors are available to help with workouts.
Dance and Exercise Studio
Our fully sprung dance and exercise studio which opened in 2011 provides excellent facilities for dance and martial arts, yoga, zumba and fitness classes.
Enjoy access to our 3G floodlit All Weather Pitch, cricket nets, four new tennis courts and large playing fields.
Working in partnership with a wide range of national governing bodies, we support a number of sports with professional coaches and coaching programmes.
Strode is affiliated to the British Colleges Sports Association and students will have the opportunity to play competitive fixtures at local, regional and national level.
Opportunities to gain 'Leader' and 'Coaching' Awards are also available in certain sports.

Rugby - Strode College 1st Vs PETROC
After a 150 mile round trip Strode 1st XV were left dejected despite a spirited effort until the final whistle, the home side ground out a narrow victory finishing the game 11-3 to the good. The Strode players that made the trip to Barnstaple can be both proud and confident of their efforts, not only is that the first rugby fixture strode have had in over 2 years it also proves that the team as a whole are heading in the right direction. Hockey - Strode College 1st Vs Yeovil College 1st
The Strode Hockey team returned from last week's loss with fighting spirit and a well-deserved 7-5 win. Lianna Burt scored the first goal from an advantage of a short corner, followed by Freya Legg and Jess Cecchini scoring 2 more each. Ellie Green, player of the match, showed intense determination and teammate support as did Ellie Gore who was also voted player of the match. Captain, Meg Ward stated: ‘‘We have developed so much since last week's game. It was not only the result that shows this but also the skill level and brilliant communication between each other''. Netball - Strode College 1st Vs Yeovil College 1st
Strode College travelled to Westlands to play their second league game of the season against Yeovil College. Strode gave a fighting performance against a very tough opposition and they played an action packed match to be proud of. Throughout the match there was hard work, determination and support displayed from both teams, but unfortunately the final score was 44-33 to Yeovil. Strode’s players’ player went to Lucy Baker, GD (goal defence) with Yeovil College choosing to award Ellie Grant the player of the match. It was an exciting and rewarding match, well done to both teams.
