Are you out of work and hoping to improve your chances of finding a new job? Strode College, in association with Job Centre Plus, is offering free training.
Much of our training is done out in the community (Wells, Frome and Yeovil) as well as on campus so if you are not local to Street this is not a problem. If you need assistance in improving your literacy and/or numeracy, we offer free assessments and classes. We can offer an Employability Skills course and assist with producing a CV, an award in Retail/Customer Service along with a Food Hygiene certificate plus for those lacking confidence with computers we can assist with a Computer for Beginners course. We have a dedicated Computer Centre at Strode where you can update your computer skills and gain further qualifications that employers are requesting. For you gentlemen hoping to learn a trade, we run various training courses in conjunction with Train4All such as construction along with a CSCS card. Other courses planned soon include a short Care/First Aid course. These courses will enable you to build your confidence, gain the right skills, add to your CV, and gain the qualifications which employers recognize as best preparing you for work.
All materials will be provided. No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to participate and learn and a commitment to see the course to its conclusion. If you are interested please phone Tania Miller on 07854 685724 for an informal chat or email email@example.com or speak to your Job Centre adviser.
