- Work Based Learning Assessor - 15 hours per week (Health and Social Care and/or Hospitality)

Responsible to: Head of Continuing Education Teaching Team via the Work based Learning ManagerJob Purpose: To assess students on vocational qualifications
Key Tasks and Responsibilities1. To assess Levels 2 - 3 in Health and Social Care and or Hospitality.
2. To deliver workshops relating to knowledge base.
3. To maintain efficient record keeping systems.
4. To conduct assessment, evaluation and progress reviews as appropriate, both inside Strode College and in the workplace.
5. To complete full inductions with learners and complete sign up paperwork
6. To work with learners on an apprenticeship programme and offer support to enable them to complete their framework within time allocated.
7. To assist with the marketing, development and evaluation of courses.
8. To assess learners using an e-portfolio
9. To attend standardisation meetings.
10. To participate in ongoing staff development and training opportunities as far as possible.
11. To liaise with the QCF Manager, internal verifiers, external verifiers.
12. To carry out internal verification as necessary.
13. To undertake any other duties appropriate to the level of this post.
14. To adhere to the College Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Policies.
15. To comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 i.e. it is the responsibility of individual staff members to protect data and to take all reasonable steps to ensure all data is kept securely.

Terms and Conditions1 The appointment will commence as soon as possible.
2 The salary is from £27,741 - £29,384 pro rata.
3 Hours of duty are approximately 15 hours per week.

5 The post is subject to a probationary period of six months during which time two reports will be carried out. We view probation as a supportive time but if performance is not satisfactory it could lead to termination of the contract. During the probation period 4 mandatory training units must be undertaken. The training sessions are Safeguarding Children, Health and Safety, Disability Discrimination Act and Equal Opportunities.
6 It is a condition of appointment that the salary will be paid directly into a bank or building society account.
7 Holiday entitlement is 29 days pro rata.
8 The appointee will be brought automatically into the Local Government Pension Scheme but has the opportunity to opt out. Contributions are 6.5% of salary.
9 Sick leave will be in accordance with the procedures laid down by the Strode College Board of Governors.
