Learning and Skills Beacon Status awarded to Strode College
Strode College was one of thirteen learning providers awarded Learning and Skills Beacon Status at a Ceremony held in London by Alan Johnson MP, Minister of State for Lifelong Learning, Further and Higher Education.
Learning and Skills Beacon Status recognises excellent institutions that deliver high quality teaching and learning, are well led and managed, and who are able to share that good practice with others.
Alan Johnson said: "The 13 organisations awarded Learning and Skills Beacon Status have demonstrated their capacity to make an outstanding contribution to meeting the challenges facing the Learning and Skills Sector. Beacon status also brings the support and funding necessary to share your good practice and take forward innovation activity for the benefit of the entire Learning and Skills Community".
Dugald Sandeman, Executive Director of Somerset Learning and Skills Council commented "We are delighted that Strode College has been awarded Learning and Skills Beacon Status. I am sure that their excellent performance will be a guide and an inspiration to others".
Ian Bennett, former Principal at Strode College commented "We are extremely pleased to have been awarded Learning and Skills Beacon Status. Not only is it a recognition of our existing good practice but enables us to share this with others working in the same field".
