Why Study A Levels at Strode?
99% of all subjects taken at A Level are passed with 48% of all entries taken graded at A or B grades. The majority of A Level students go on to university, with several each year going on to Oxford or Cambridge. See our range of A Level subjects.
Please note that not all combinations are possible The A Level programme covers 33 weeks in the AS year and 32 weeks in the A2 year, term time only with no classes on Bank Holidays. Students are expected to take 4 AS Levels in year 1 and 3 A2 Levels in year 2. Tutorial support is given for both academic and pastoral care. The total taught programme is 19 hours a week in the first year and 14.5 hours in the second year, with 15 hours private study expected for both years.

English Language School @ Strode
English Language Preparation
The English Language Preparation course is designed to prepare you for taking academic and vocational courses such as a two year A Level course or a National Diploma course on successful completion. This course has less emphasis on gaining vocational/academic qualifications and concentrates much more on developing English Language skills in either a vocational or academic context. It is perfect for people who really want to learn English. The programme lasts for 34 weeks from September to July. You will study for 15 hours a week with 15 hours of private study/home work expected per week, which you should complete in the Learning Resources Centre or other College open learning areas.
The course comprises English Language teaching to a standard of IELTS 6 (International English Language Testing System) as well as studying everyday English, speaking, reading and writing. In addition you will have access to our enrichment programme including choices from creative and performance arts, travel, languages and personal development along with a level 3 academic or vocational component.
