Following on from the excellent Ofsted report on education practice the Nursery achieved an outstanding result in 2015 from Ofsted's assessment of care standards in the Nursery. In its inspection report Ofsted praises the quality of teaching and support at the nursery saying: “The nursery provides an extremely secure and nurturing environment where children are happy, confident and settle quickly…Children flourish because of outstanding teaching and the excellent levels of support they receive from highly skilled and qualified staff...Staff promote children’s love of learning through their high quality teaching and the engaging learning environment…Staff inspire the children to behave well; they listen to them and show genuine interest in what they have to say. Children feel respected and valued.”
Strode College Day Nursery is registered with OFSTED and provides childcare for children aged from 2 years up to school age. The service is for children of students studying at Strode College, Strode College staff and members of the local community.
Strode College Day Nursery operates from a purpose built facility. It features a secure outdoor play area and is a bright, colourful, safe environment with caring well-qualified staff.
The children are encouraged to develop their personal, social and emotional skills along with communication, language and literacy, knowledge and understanding of the world, creative development, problem reasoning and numeracy and physical development. The Nursery use facilities and opportunities from within the College to enhance children’s learning and development. For example trips to the theatre, use of the sports hall, College library.
Partnership with parents is considered to be essential and parents are well informed about the nursery routine and activities, and have opportunities to discuss their child's progress with staff.
