Learning Centre

Learning CentreOur Learning Centre provides students with a vibrant study facility spread over two floors. We have a drop in computer service where you can access over 65 PC's and Macs for your study needs or you can bring in your own laptop, tablet or phone for research as we are WiFi enabled. We have technology available for you to print out coursework, scan documents, laminate, photocopy material and more.

We have a well-stocked library providing you access to over 3000 ebooks, magazines and periodicals, books, including a good collection of fiction, text books, DVD's as well as local and national newspapers to keep you up to date with current events. We provide areas for both group work and personal study. Our HE students have full access to the facilities of Plymouth University library and can borrow resources to supplement their learning.

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to help you find the information you need and can also provide you with advice and guidance about copyright and plagiarism issues.

Library Self ServiceFor more information have a look at our Learning Centre Intranet site where you will find links to searching the Strode catalogue, ebook collections, online magazines & newspapers. We also have a Learning Centre Induction course for you on Strode Moodle.

The AV Centre can be found on the ground floor of the Learning Centre, where staff are available to lend students a range of equipment to assist with their studies including: digital cameras, digital SLR's for both stills and film, video cameras, a variety of lenses, tripods, laptops, MacBooks and MP3 recording devices.

The Careers Adviser is also based in the Learning Centre. Students may access the services offered by signing up on the door of the Careers Room for an appointment.
