On this Foundation Degree you will acquire the knowledge and skills to establish a career in management. In the second year you will specialise in Business or Public Sector Management.

Local and regional businesses are keen to recruit qualified and talented entrepreneurial people with business management skills to work in their organisations. This course is also suitable if you want to gain a degree-level qualification with a view to specialising in a particular field in the future.

This new course with a business focus has evolved from our original Foundation Degree in ‘Managing in the Public Sector Services’. It has been developed in close collaboration with industry experts, local employers and Plymouth University.

Length of study

You can study this course full-time over two years, attending college two days each week or part-time over four years. You can also study individual modules.

Enrichment opportunities

You will have opportunities to visit and engage with a variety of local and regional businesses and to participate in relevant trips in the UK and abroad. Previous students have visited the Houses of Parliament and the Supreme Court in London and many have participated in our international ski trip to develop valuable management skills including team building, leadership and effective communication.

Students on the programme will also be offered the chance to take part in a two-week management and business project based in Paris as part of the ‘International Perspectives to Management’ module. Costs for trips are additional to course fees.
