What will you do on this course?
This one year course is aimed at recently qualified level 2 junior stylists. You will build and develop your skills in colouring, cutting, creative hair design and bridal styling.
Students will study in a commercial salon and gain valuable experience of salon life. Trips and guest speakers are included in the programme and you will also have an opportunity to participate in our annual Industry Day and to attend talks and presentations from representatives from the hairdressing industry. There will also be the opportunity to participate in internal and external competitions. (See the Hair and Beauty section on our website.)
New for 2015 - You may have the opportunity to take part in an exciting exchange trip, for example to France.
How is the course assessed?
Each unit is assessed through graded observations of practical skills and on-line testing. Participation in internal and external arranged competitions is also a requirement. City & Guilds Exam Board.
University and career progression
You could pursue a career as a salon stylist, freelance hairdresser, cruise ship stylist, or work abroad or in the TV/film/media industry.
Successful completion of either NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing or the Level 2 Diploma in Womens Hairdressing.
You may be required to update your existing kit should any of your tools need to be replaced.
