Strode News

Newly qualified Personal Trainers from Strode College put their skills to good use recently when they put a group of children from St Dunstan's school in Glastonbury through their paces.

Twenty four enthusiastic year tens visited Strode Sports Hall for the fitness session which included a variety of unusual exercises including tractor tyre flipping, tug of war, box jumps and Turkish get ups.

The session, which introduced the school pupils to some fun and effective new exercises, also gave Strode's new Personal Trainers the chance to develop and hone their newly acquired expertise.

Julian Grundy, Course Manager for the part-time CYQ Level 3 Personal Training course at Strode, said: "Everyone who took part in the event thoroughly enjoyed themselves. This was valuable practice for our students as it got them working with real people which helps build the confidence they need to instruct. The St Dunstan's pupils were great; they really embraced the prospect of some hard exercise!"

Strode College currently runs two part-time programmes leading to qualifications in the Fitness Industry - CYQ Level 2 Fitness Instructor and CYQ Level 3 Personal Trainer. Anyone who has a passion for health, fitness and exercise and is interested in a career in this area should call Strode on 01458 844436.
