Strode College A Level student Ross Scott got the chance to demonstrate his Tae Kwon Do skills recently, when he competed in the British Tae Kwon Do Championships at the International Arena in Telford.  After some fiercely contested fights, Ross was awarded second place in the black belt heavy weight cadet (15-18) category.

Ross, who lives in Wanstrow nr Bruton, became English Cadet Heavyweight Champion earlier in the year, and he has an impressive record of success in the sport, including first place in the West of England Men's Heavyweight Championships in January 2010.

Ross gained valuable competition experience in Telford and was pleased with the result.  He said: "I was delighted to get on the podium in such a hard division and against experienced and well rounded fighters too.  Thank you to every one who supported me, my parents and grandad, my friends and Strode College for their sponsorship."

Ross is currently studying for A Levels at Strode in Sports Studies, Drama and Theatre Studies, English Literature and English Language.
