Strode College recently hosted and competed in a Somerset Colleges Trampoline Tournament for Elite and Novice ladies and men.  Ten students from Strode competed against Bridgwater and Richard Huish Colleges, with all competitors displaying great energy and skill.

The competitors had to impress the judges with a fixed routine and a voluntary routine.  They were judged on their 'neatness' and the difficulty of their moves.

Strode's men did well with Mike Male of Charlton Mackrell awarded first place in the Elite category, and Owen Spender of Langport, gaining second place in the Novice category in his first ever competition.

This was the first competition for many of the Strode ladies and they were up against some experienced competitors.  Although not ranked highly, they performed some neat routines and gained valuable competition experience.

Jenny Stevens, Strode College's Trampoline Coach said: "We have some great students in our trampoline squad and we really enjoy training and competing together.  Tournaments give students a chance to show what they can do and to see what they can achieve with hard work; thanks to all those who helped out.
