22/10/10 - Getting Creative with Cardboard
Strode News

Art and Design students at Strode College got creative with cardboard recently, making some impressive carnival like sculptures which they paraded around the College.

The 'Cardboard Carnival' project was designed to warm up their creative working methods and encourage team work.  The final constructions included a five meter long alligator, a snail complete with a snail trail, an elephant, a giant dragon fly with flappable wings and a Viking ship.

Sculpture Lecturer Duncan Cameron said: "This project challenged students to arrive at bold outcomes when working with very simple materials.  It was also a great opportunity for students to get a sense of the College, and the parade across campus gave students the chance to share their work and gave the project a grand which finale."
