- 11/10/10 - Strode College Wants Local People to 'Get Online'
Strode College is inviting people along to its free 'Get online week' sessions in October, which are designed to get more people using computers and the internet.
Three sessions are planned for Monday 18 October 10.30am-1.30pm, Wednesday 20 October 3.00pm-6.00pm and Friday 22 October 10.30am-1.25pm. There are limited places available, but other sessions will be organised if enough people sign up.
There are ten million adults in the UK who don't use the internet. With services going online and most new jobs now requiring internet skills, they could be missing out on all sorts of benefits, opportunities and savings.
Nadine Norman, Manager of Strode College's Computer Centre said: "We are hoping to introduce a lot of people to the internet and computers and to show them that they can be helpful, interesting or fun. Whether you want to keep in touch with family and friends, improve your job prospects, research your family tree, compare prices or fill in forms, you can save time, money and hassle by doing it on the internet. If you've never used computers before, or if you're just not sure about them, this is a great time to have a go. Anyone interested in joining one of our sessions should call 01458 844480."
